What data is shareable under the Consumer Data Right (CDR)?

Data sets that must be shared under the Consumer Data Right (CDR) are specified in the legislation and include both product reference data and personal consumer data.

Product reference data is public product information that is not tied to an individual consumer. For example, interest rates, fees and eligibility criteria for products like credit cards and mortgages. The product reference data is accessible via public APIs.

Consumer data refers to information that is specific to that individual consumer, such as their personal data, account data and transactional data. Only accredited data recipients can receive this data from a data holder and can only use this data in accordance with  an explicit, timebound consumer consent.
